If the potential on which the particle scatters has symmetries it is not likely that the scattering functions (scattering angle and times) will exhibit any irregular behavior. The current model does not posses such a high symmetry and thus will produce chaotic scattering. The latter is characterized by the scattering functions exhibiting very strong dependence on the initial parameter values.
Initial conditions which differ by very small amount lead to vastly different scattering outcome. That this is so results intuitively from the fact that the chaotic scattering trajectories wanders about in phase space in very complicated patterns.
