I'm not sure what is meant when you said ipython is dynamically linked.
Since ipython is written completely in Python I'm not sure the concept
of linking applies. Did you mean the basin_remote package was
dynamically linked? It is true that all compiled sources (in the kernel
and remote) are dynamically linked by default.
Anyway, I'll be in 808 tomorrow and once I get my immediate task list
taken care of, I should have some time in the afternoon to research this
and come up with something intelligent to say.
