Chapter 3 - Exercises

1. Tabulate and plot the following functions (compare these graphs to those in Chapter 2)

f1(x) = exp( - 0.3 x ² ) sin(x)

f2(x) = sin(x) cos(x)

f3(x) = sin(x) + cos(x)

f4(x) = sin(x) + sin(2x)

2. Plot the functions f1(x) through f4(x) simultaneously in a single graph (compare this graph to the same graph in Chapter 2).

4. Tabulate the function of 2 variables f(x) = exp( - a x ² ) for a =0.5, 1.0, 1.5, and 2.0. Plot f(a,x) for these values of a simultaneously in a single graph (compare this graph to the same graph in Chapter 2).
