Section 3.7.4 - Plotting simultaneously f(x) = a x b and sin(x)

To plot simultaneously f(x) and sin(x) requires first to add a calculation of sin(x) on the numerical grid to the table, then to plot the two functions in the same graph. The steps to follow are:

- clear the old graph ( via the "edit" - "clear" - "all" option from the menu bar )

- add a third column to the table containing sin(x)

- select the three columns of the table and invoke the Chart Wizard tool

- make sure that the x data not be treated as a data series but to position the points along the x-axis

- position and scale the graph properly to fit on a single page
