Photos from England October 2002
I had three weeks in England in October 2002. A week at home, in
Durham and then Francisco came over. I don't appear to have taken any
photos from the first two weeks so we start at the Farmer's Boy Pub
with Claire, Ursula and Salman. This was a great reunion.
The girls, Ursula, Claire and Fiona
And after a night with the girls, I had to take Francisco to the tree
house tree.
Monday we had a busy day visiting Pickering, Filey (pictured) and
York. Great British weather! But we still got to go on the Brig
and play on a seesaw.
Then down to Cambridge. This is King's college. It was very windy!
And Downing College
But then we went down to London. This is the Tower of London where
many famous queens were locked up,
This is the lovely Tower Bridge (not London Bridge)
But this is Francisco on Tower Bridge, looking at London Bridge
I like the Lloyd's Bank building (Richard Rodgers). Makes a contrast to
the old.
This is new too - the Millennium Bridge
Francisco and I on the Millennium Bridge with St Paul's in the background.
Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament
Francisco outside Buckingham Palace - he didn't get to have tea with
the queen but drove us made asking for it!!!
Me in front of Buckingham palace
Francisco trying (and failing) to make the guard laugh.
There is a photo of Alex (brother) and I like this at Trafalgar Square
taken when I was about 8. A bit older now.
Francisco sat on a wall in front of the Thames. Look hard and you can
see the London Eye.
Back up North and a day out in Derbyshire with Alex and Liz.
Over looking Castleton.
Curry time after a good walk.
The last day was my old friend Sarah's wedding so we had to dress up a
bit. We scrub up ok!
Sarah looking very nice and married.
And the old gang of school friends (with two extra and a few
missing). Sally, Liz, Francisco, Me, David S, Ursula, Lucy M, Robin,
Ben, Greg and Rachel.
