Hello All,
I've updated the kernel configure file so that reconfiguring the kernel
will now delete the BASIN-config file. Once the make command is issued
BASIN-config will be rebuilt using the latest information from
configure. This should prevent BASIN-config from containing outdated
information.
Also, I've modified the basin_start.sh script to (hopefully) prevent the
random engine failures that people have been experiencing. My guess as
to what was happening was that the engines were actually being created
before the controller was finished loading. This would cause the first
few engines to fail and exit because there was no controller to connect
to. Now, there is a 3 second wait between when the controller is
launched and when the engines attempt to launch.
In addition, I've added a check in the script to determine if the
controller is actually running before the engines launch. This should
prevent someone accidentally connecting their engines to a controller
that someone else has previously started.
If you notice any random errors or other problems, please email me the
relevant output.
Thanks,
~doug
