Frinkiac Issue!!!!

I tried logging in to frinkiac1 and noticed the following right away:

Then I noticed that mpicc (the mpi compiler) was not present in any
standard location as it usually is (when trying to compile basin). So
I did:

find /. -name "mpicc" -print

but to no avail. It seems many libraries and executables are
apparently missing. Why? I don't exactly know.... Dan, any suggestions?

Also, all of the frinkiacs (except 1) are down and powered off. I
tried restarting them manually, but they did not receive IP addresses
upon boot (and did not boot).

I was unable to do an fsck on the reiserfs hda3 where most of the
missing stuff lives, that might be a start.

I really have no idea what's going on here... In short, HELP!!!!
